Local Group Meetings

HENNEY (Home Education Network North East Yorkshire) 
 
We are a support network of home educating parents based in North East Yorkshire. We are an all inclusive group and welcome new members with ideas and resources to offer, regardless of their philosophy and approach, be it autonomous, structured or a mixture.

Meetings are currently organised for the first and third Fridays the month.  The meeting on the first Friday of the month is held at various places out and about around the local area.  The meeting on the third Friday of the month is held in a local village hall.  Meetings are suitable for children of all ages. 

A Yahoo group has been set up to keep members informed of group meetings, to publicise relevant local events, for sharing useful links and to assist families in meeting new home education contacts.  To join the Henney yahoo group email:

Please note that this yahoo group is only open to parents who are Home Educating or are considering Home Education and want to find out more.  This list is moderated by local Home Educators.

North and West Yorkshire HE group meet just over the border in West Yorkshire on the second and fourth Friday of the month in Steeton, between Skipton and Keighley. Singing & rhythm, cooperative/group games, toys for younger children, outdoor toys & games, arts & crafts and themed activities….Please use the contact us contact us page for more details.

There is a group which meets near Malton. They meet on a Monday from 12 till 4. it is a very informal group, there are craft activites and lots of free play and space to chat. For more details please use the contact us page.

The TVHE group meets twice on a Wednesday morning 10:30 – 12:30 at Summerhill, Hartlepool (just over the border) There is a wide age range of children from 0 – 16 and activities are generally informal. For more details please use the contact us page
